That is an excellent idea. Here's an off-the-cuff plan.
- I will put to gether a draft proposal in a day or two.
- I will put it on chaavaDii to get other members' input.
- By Monday, Nov 26th, I will revise the proposal and publish it on wikipedia. At that point, it will be ready for you to discuss the same with Lokaprabha editors.
- Based on their feedback, we will refine the proposal and announce the competition. Ideally, the announcement will be simeltaneous with Lokaprabha's announcement.
- Competition will last for about two weeks during which the articles will be edited.
- At the end of two weeks, the articles will be locked down for a day while the judges evaluate them based on a pre-announced criteria.
- Winners will be announced and the articles will be released for general edits once again.
How does that sound?

Abhay, I am totally excited by your response. Let us do it. I talked to a friend from Sacramento Marathi Mandal yesterday. He is also excited. We should be able to put together a good team to do this. I have a couple of suggestions.
- Articles should be about the subjects of national interest. For example at this point in time, we need articles about technology, health science, etc. more than we need article on sports.
- Author must provide as references and citations. If something cannot be corroborated by reference, then it must be mmentioned that reference cannot be provided.
- I have a good lady friend who is highly educated, but has chosen to be housewife to cater to her family. We can rope in such untapped talent for editing etc.
What do you think about this? You are the wikipedia editor, so rest assured you can overrider any suggestions I make.

I cannot find the link for the competition we are discussing here. Is that deleted? I am trying to contact my friend in Lokprabha. But perhaps he is busy. So far have not heard from him. Will let you know as soon as I know something. Kedar
- The link shows up at the top that says - मराठी विकिपीडियाच्या पहिल्या लेख संपादन स्पर्धेत भाग घ्या. When you click on पहिल्या लेख संपादन स्पर्धेत, it takes you to the competition page. That page and the list of articles (linked from there) needs translation.
