फ़ आणि फ

नमस्कार,

माझं म्हणणं असं होतं की गंजिफा/गंजीफा ह्या शब्दात ओष्ठ्य फ आहे. दंतौष्ठ्य फ़ नाही. मी मराठी विश्वकोशात पाहिलं. त्यात गंजीफा असं लिहिलं आहे. जि की जी तेही पाहावं लागेल. मी अन्यत्र शोधतो आहे.

मला आलेल्या एका पत्रात विकीपीडिया काही आर्थिक साहय्य देऊन काम करून घेऊ इच्छितो असं लिहिलं आहे. असं असेल तर मला त्यात रस आहे. मात्र त्या संदर्भातल्या अटी इत्यादीसंदर्भात कुठे चौकशी करायची ह्याबद्दल आपण काही सांगू शकाल का? मी मला आलेलं पत्र (महत्त्वाचा भाग )इथे जोडतो. So far the Wikipedias in Indian languages have seen very slow progress. There are among the lowest ratio "number of articles /number of speakers". There a number of technical and other reasons.

Some people from the Wikimedia Foundation think that a financial help may boost these languages.They are willing to sponsor students who might contribute writing articles in Indian languages on different subjects for Wikipedia.

For each language, we will need at least two persons to review the quality of the articles (teachers, writers, etc.).

So far, we got very few answers although we contacted languages departments of all main Indian universities. So we want to spread this offer further.

मराठी विकिपीडियाची वाढ: एक विचार

नमस्कार.

सध्या असे दिसून येते की आपण सर्व "मराठी विकिपीडिया" म्हणजे "महाराष्ट्र / मराठी भाषा / मराठी संस्कृती, फारच झाले तर भारत, यांविषयीचा विकिपीडिया" एवढ्याच मर्यादित धोरणाने लेखांचा भरणा करीत आहोत. एक म्हणजे अशा रीतीने मराठी विकिपीडियाची वाढ फारच संथगतीने होईल, व मुख्य म्हणजे विकिपीडियाचा तो उद्देश नाही. मराठी विकिपीडिया हा जागतिक / विश्वव्यापी ज्ञानाचा मराठी भाषेतील कोश व्हावा, हा त्यामागील उद्देश आहे. तरी या दृष्टीने अधिकाधिक व्यापक विषयांवरील लेखांचा यात समावेश करावा, व गरज पडल्यास सरळसरळ इंग्रजी किंवा इतर भाषांतील विकिपीडियांतील काही अविशिष्ट / विशिष्ट लेखांचे भाषांतर करावे.

अर्थात यासाठी कोणीतरी भरपूर वेळेचे योगदान करणे अत्यंत आवश्यक आहे, हे जाताजाता नमूद करावेसे वाटते. तरीसुद्धा "वाढीसाठी एक दिशा" या दृष्टीने याचा योग्य तो विचार व्हावा, ही विनंती.

मराठी विकिपीडियाचे बोधचिन्ह (logo)

नमस्कार.

मराठी विकिपीडियाच्या बोधचिन्हात "The Free Encyclopedia" चे भाषांतर "मुक्त ज्ञानकोश" च्या ऐवजी चुकून "मक्त ज्ञानकोश" असे पडले आहे. यामुळे अर्थाचा अनर्थ होतो, अशी माझी नम्र धारणा आहे. तरी याबद्दल काही करता येईल काय?

निर्वाहपृष्ठ छान आहे. त्यामुळे बदल करणे सोपे होईल. सुशांतच्या फ अणि फ़ बद्दल मला जास्त ज्ञान नाही आहे. अर्थिक साहाय्य ची कल्पना ठीक आहे पण भारतातील आंतरजाल वापरणार्‍या लोकांना पैशाची गरज आहे असे वाटत नाही. पण याने विकिपीडिआला फायदा होणार असेलतर नक्कीच चांगली आहे. याबाबतीत मेटा विकिवर थोडी माहिती मिळेल असे वाटते.

Hi Harshal, we should submit langaugeMR.php in the current state. I think we can change all other things using all system messages. Also we have translated more messages than hindi which already has replaced languageHi.php

About the calendar

Hi harshal, I don't really see how we can fit the calendar on the Mainpage. I am not very good in aesthetics :(. so better you decide about it

१९६१च्या युद्धानंतर भारतभूमीवरील उरलेसुरले पोर्तुगीज अधिपत्य समाप्त झाले, तसेच गोवा, दमण व दीव हा प्रदेश संपूर्णपणे मुक्त झाला. या अर्थाने, १९६१चे युद्ध हा गोवा मुक्ती आंदोलनाचा (किंवा खरे तर गोवा मुक्ती प्रक्रियेचा) शेवटचा व अत्यंत महत्त्वपूर्ण टप्पा होता. तरीसुद्धा आपणास हे लक्षात घ्यावे लागेल, की हे मुक्तियुद्ध म्हणजे गोवा मुक्ति आंदोलनाचा फक्त एक लहानसा (परंतु निर्णायक) भाग होता. या युद्धाव्यतिरिक्त गोवा मुक्ति आंदोलनाचा खूप मोठा इतिहास आहे, ज्यामध्ये स्थानिक गोवेकर स्वातंत्र्यसैनिकांचा खूप मोठा वाटा आहे. या अर्थाने, "१९६१ चे युद्ध म्हणजेच गोवा मुक्ति आंदोलन" असे म्हणणे अत्यंत चुकीचे ठरेल.

Agreed that the 1961 Indian Military action was a very important part of the process of Liberation of Goa, Daman and Diu. In fact it was the most important part, in that it liberated the said territories and brought to a complete end the Portuguese rule over Indian territory. However, it cannot still be identified with the entire Goa Liberation Movement, which is much more than the 1961 action. The 1961 action was a small but the most important part of the history of Goa's Liberation. Also, it was officially a war: it was a military action codenamed "Operation Vijay", and India and Portugal were technically in a state of war (in fact till 1974, when the new Portuguese government officially recognized / ratified Indian sovereignty over the said territories, under the Chavan-Soares Treaty between the Foreign Ministers of India and Portugal, Mr. Yashwantrao Chavan and Mr. Mario Soares, respectively).

Harshal,

Technically, it may be argued (in favor of the word "Portugal" in the beginning of the title), that the state of war that resulted from the 1961 Indian Military Action (Operation Vijay) was between India and Portugal (and not between India and Goa or the Indian Union and the Estado da India Portuguesa), although the target of the operation was the territory of Goa, Daman and Diu, and not the Portuguese mainland.

However, Your Point is Well Noted. I shall make the necessary change in the title.

लेखन कुठे करायचे ?

नमस्कार,

   मला लेखन करतांना फार प्रश्न पडतो. इथे  'create page' असे कुठे दिसत नाही. ज्या कॅटॅगरी मध्ये सद्य लिखाण मोडते ती कॅटॅगरी निवडून मग जी रिकामी खिडकी  उघडेल त्यावर करायचे का ? बरं मग वरचे शीर्षक कसे बदलायचे/घालायचे ?  त्याकरिता 
 " लेखन करण्याकरिता एक 'कॅटॅगरी निवडा' आणि 'इथे लेखन करा' अशी एक चौकट हवी.

Windows XP आणि मराठी लेखन

मी विंडोज एक्सपी (दुरुस्ती 2), इंटरनेट एक्सप्लोरर किंवा फायरफॉक्स वापरुन सहज ब्राउजर मधेच टंकलेखन करु शकत आहे. काही लेखात आ हे अक्षर अ+ा=अा असे दिसत आहे. टंकलेखन करताना Inscript keyboard वर shift+e (E) हे छापल्यास आ अक्षर येते. तसेच ऱ्य ऐवजी काही इतर keys वापरुन योग्य अक्षरे दिसतील का?

Can you delete content page अभय नातू It is a mistake. I am not (yet) famous enough to warrant my own wiki entry..heh.

Better still, if you can tell me how to acquire this privilege (deletion, moderation, etc.) I can do this myself and take care of other requests like this. I have been actively adding/editing marathi wiki and would love to have this privilege to make marathi wiki better, faster.

Harshal,

I see that you moved a couple of pages to इ.स. from ई.स. Can you determine with some authenticity which one is correct? I have seen ई.स. used in most places.
