Shankar Namdev Mutkule Senior Research Fellow in Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad (Dr. BAMU), Master of Science (Zoology) (Dr. BAMU).

Mr. Mutkule is currently pursuing his Ph.D. degree in Dr. BAMU, entitled “Genetic Introgression Levels among the Osmanabadi Goat Population and its Implication on the Future Sustenance of the Breed”. His core research area is livestock genetics, especially Goat genetics. Shankar has 4 years of research experience in the Paul Hebert Center for DNA Barcoding and Biodiversity Studies (PHCDBS). He has expertise in Molecular Biology techniques and he is well-versed in the Bioinformatics areas. Shankar had worked as a Research Assistant in the Covid-19 testing laboratory during the pandemic phase. He currently working on the project entitled “Genetic Strategies to improve native livestock breeds of Marathwada”. He also presented this work at National and International conferences and got the best presentation awards at both conferences. The International conference on “Biotech- MicroCon: Shaping the Sustainable Future held at Sri Padmavati Women’s University, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh in December 2023. The National Seminar on “Sustainable Development and Environmental Challenges for New India” (SDECNI-2023) held in Jalna sponsored by ICSSR in June, 2022.

He is proficient in animal handling in Animal House.
