इराणमधील बहुसंख्य लोकसंख्या (अंदाजे ६७-८०%) ही ईराणी लोक आहेत.[२][३][४][५] या श्रेणीतील मोठ्या गटांमध्ये पर्शियन आणि कुर्ड्स यांचा समावेश आहे. इतर छोट्या समूहात गिलाकिस, मझांदरानिस, लर्स, टॅट्स, तल्याश आणि बलच यांचा समावेश आहे.
