With dinvishes, can you bring the page for that respective date in sync?

e.g. today is may 12th and dinvishesh is ready for next few days. However the respective pages i.e. 'May 12', should also be in sync. I think task is very similar .

Congrats for Sysophood

Hello कोल्हापुरी,

We need to give our commitments consistantly like the past.

Now we also need to decide agenda for next two months about structure and promotion of Marathi wikipedia.

I strongly feel the efforts need to be very structured, planned and disciplined.

The structure of wikipedia is more or less acceptible. But we need to work more towards adding notices, tracking systems and robots.

e.g. all images be carrying GFDL or similar tag, all articles on frontpage be tracked throughout (similar to English wikipedia).

Adding robots, such as anyone who registers himself will receive a welcome message with a rose, etc :)

Few very important fronts,

1. Translation of LanguageMr.php (which I have already begun since yesterday)
2. To prepare/translate the edit-help article
3. To restructure 'Devanagari' setup

Re:Missing images

Hello,

Yes, I could see the images are missing.

Late afternoo till evening time, all wikisites were down because of some problem. In fact the error was related to DNS entries (which surprised me a lot).

However I did not guess it as some sort of 'failure' to this extent.

Let me check out more about it.

Neutrality tag

Hello,

I think in English wikipedia, there is/was a tag about neutrality dispute of RSS article.

What do you think? I feel that we also should add such a tag.

Changing design of mainpage

Hello कोल्हापुरी,

Recently I could browser at lower resolutions i.e. 800x600 (generally I browse at resolutions 1600x1080 or 1280x1204). I found that it is too clumpsy and tidy. If so, then we need to redesign the page. What are your inputs? Also, users should be able to look for help quickly.

Hello,

The reason I changed dinvishesh is it is more meaningful that way, and not intended to fit in resolution 800x600.

Even english wikipedia version doesn't look good on 800x600, but at least not bad that of our's.

I think the category index (sankshipt suchi) be shortened to an extent people can easily find it out.

As of now, it is consuming 60% of screen contents.

Also, the Wikipedias whose contents are more than 1000 articles are shifted to better servers and having 5000+ are given even more resources.

I think we can test the first limit quite easily being near to 850.

Hello,

Many congrats for achieving 1000 pages!

I know almost all pages are empty, but at least structure or skeleton is at its place.

Assuming this as not-a-weak base, we can achieve more in future (or at least we can hope so).

Colour coding

Hello,

I used 2-3 colours till now in tables and I feel we can have a sort of colour coding in the site.

Green is used for time-related tables and similar.

Any suggestion?

I was searching for dinvishesh on various sites, but it seems that for Marathi context Pudhari.com is only hope.

Also, I am having two suggestions for both of us(and all active members other than us, if any).

1. We should complete the translation of LanguageMr.php with priority.

2. Once translation is done (and activated), is it possible that we should add an article for a person on daily basis.

We would create the article, add birth/death info and if possible a picture of him. That's it.

It should keep our interest up and the Wikipedia will have entries for many more people.

Since we also stress upon structure of wikipedia (i.e. categories, templates, etc), we can take one category, build all context around it and then add an article daily.

e.g. we can take example of scientists in India (which you had started sometime back) and stretch it.

Let me know your opinion.

I think theme of week is really good idea. Now with this scheme we can add one article in depth, but my idea was just to expand the wikipedia in terms of new articles.

Can we adapt both schemes? It means adding a new article for a person (with minimalist but correct info) and expanding article for the week?

For online Marathi dictionary, frankly I could not find it. But I know an online SanskRt dictionary. It is greatly useful (and I used it to translate words like 'sanchika' for 'file').

General Sanskrit Documents.

Now about LanguageMr.php file, I saw your translations and they are acceptable. In fact once the translation is complete, we can correct it wherever required. But we have to complete it in a stretch.

Hello कोल्हापुरी,

It is not important if either of us should get the first Barnstar. What is important at this moment is to cheer up for the contributions we made towards our Marathi language, in the name of Wikipedia. It always remained like a thought in my mind before I joined Wikipedia, that I should begin to do something for Marathi. When and where were the only questions lingering in the mind.

I offered the Barnstar to you because of a very strong reason for myself. When I suddenly realized my dropping interest in the exercise, I thought it is not because we lack enthusiasm or vigour but because we forgot to celebrate the moments. Since I realized it first the honour went to me first to acknowledge it and you got the first Barnstar. However your Barnstar is certainly another good surprise (the first was reco for sysophood :).

Celebrations are important and I hope it will keep our interests and dedications at its pinacle, always.
